Help make this year’s Cat Tracks the best ever

Published 9:40 am Thursday, July 7, 2016

The 10th annual Cat Tracks 5K Run/Walk will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.

Please mark it on your calendars and come out and support our Brandywine Improvement Foundation. We want to get record numbers of runners and walkers out there for this 10th year.

Our Foundation has supported field trips for kids, technology, athletic improvements and our new press box. Last summer, and again this July and August, we are helping to fund the Summer My Way program at Brandywine.

The Niles-Buchanan YMCA helps provide this great summer school and fun experience for our students in grades 2-5.

The run takes place at our middle/senior high school, at 1700 Bell Road.

Our great neighbors, the Low family, open up their woods and fields as part of the course for the day, and we also have a unique feature, “The Swamp,” which runners and walkers have enjoyed for years.

You can also support your favorite student group or team when you register to run or walk. You simply designate the sport or student group and whoever gets the most support gets $500 toward their organization.

So here’s how you can sign up:

• You can simply go to https://runsignup.com/Race/MI/Niles/CatTracks5k and follow the registration steps.

• Go to Facebook and search for Brandywine Community Schools or Cat Tracks 5K Run/Walk.

• Stop by our offices at Brandywine Innovation Academy, 1830 South Third St. or pick up an entry form at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA.
