Eau Claire’s Terrence Young and Marcellus’ Emma Pachay were the overall winners of the second annual Ranger Run 5K race Saturday.

Neither runner was challenged by the end of the race.

“It was something new and it was pretty fun,” Young, who runs both cross country and track for the Beavers, said. “It was perfect.”

Young said he broke away from the pack about 800-meters into the race and was never challenged from that point one.

Pachay, who runs cross country and track for the Wildcats, said she was surprised that no one went with her during the race.

“I thought it was a good course,” she said. “I actually was surprised that there was nobody with me at the finish.”

The Ranger Run benefits the Cass cross country and track programs.
