Dowagiac’s Soderbloom, Eddies’ Stinnett first team all-state

Dowagiac’s Megan Soderbloom and Edwardsburg’s Layne Stinnett were named first team All-State.

Soderbloom, who hit .531 during the regular season with a school record eight home runs and 53 RBIs, was named as a utility player, while Stinnett, who hit .491 with a school record 13 home runs and 58 RBIs, was selected as a third baseman.

The Eddies Ali Strycker was an honorable mention pick as a pitcher. She was 18-4 on the year with an ERA of 1.205.

In Division 3, Brandywine’s Michaela and Makenna Hartline, along with Buchanan’s Ali Kyles and Sammi Luzadre were named to the honorable mention portion of the Division 3 All-State by the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association Thursday.

Makenna Hartline hit .554 with 13 home runs and 42 RBIs, while Michaela Hartline hit .450 with five home runs and 41 RBIs.

Kyles hit .410 for the Bucks with 32 RBIs, while Luzadre hit .426 with four home runs and 45 RBIs.
