Dowagiac golf, Yakim earn academic all-state

The Dowagiac varsity golf team, led by Justin Yakim, has been named Division 3 Academic All-State by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Association.
As a team, the Chieftains had a GPA of 3.68.
Yakim earned individual academic all-state honorable mention with his GPA of 3.99.
To earn academic all-state, a team, consisting of five members, must have a minimum combined GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Only seniors are eligible for individual academic all-state.
They must have played a minimum of two years and have a minimum GPA of 3.75.
