Thank you Midwest Energy

Our hats off to the employees of Midwest Energy who gave back to Cass County by participating in their “Changing the Landscape Day of Service” Wednesday.

More than 90 employees were divided into eight project teams and fanned out across Cass County to places like the Cass County Fairgrounds, T.K. Lawless Park, Russ Forest, Bair Lake and Five Star.

The day wrapped up with everyone gathering at the corner of Michigan 60 and Decatur Road where Midwest Energy has broken ground on its new headquarters building.

The project groups did everything from painting benches to installing playground equipment.

It is nice to see a company like Midwest Energy give back to the communities it serves.

We also appreciate the fact that instead of just throwing money at local municipalities and organizations, this oranization is putting boots on the ground and doing hands-on work that we are sure people will enjoy for many years to come.

Cass County is fortunate to have a company like Midwest Energy with the desire to not only profit off the communities it serves, but also serve the communities themselves.

We encourage other local businesses and Cass County residents to follow Midwest’s lead. Think how much could be accomplished if even a fraction of Cass County’s businesses took time to give back to the region that keeps their doors open.
