Brandywine and Buchanan were both well represented on the Division 3 All-District team, which was selected last week.

The Bobcats had six players named to the squad, which is the first step in the all-state process.

Buchanan also had six players and coach Lonnie Hoover selected.

Hunter Janowiak, Joe Covyeou, Cole Searles, Zach Grishaber, Brady Duval and Toby Fox were Brandywine’s all-district picks.

Covyeou, selected as a catcher, hit .351 with eight RBIs.

Janowiak hit .415 with 11 doubles, a home run and 28 RBIs, while Searles hit .360 with eight doubles, four triples, a home run and 24 RBIs. Janowiak was named at first base and Searles as an infielder.

Grishaber and Duval were selected as outfielders. Grishaber hit .329 with three doubles and 12 RBIs, while Duval hit .333 with six doubles, a triple and 12 RBIs.

Fox was 8-6 with an ERA of 1.85. He struck out 61 in 75.2 innings pitched.

Adkerson was named as a catcher. He hit .390 with four doubles, two triples, a home run and 15 RBIs.

Vineyard was named as an outfielder and Leazenby as a utility player. Vineyard hit .372 with six doubles and 10 RBIs, while Leazenby hit .303 with two doubles and six RBIs.

Jarrett Thomas and Alex Lindamood were named to the squad as pitchers. Thomas was 6-3 with an ERA of 2.1 with 59 strikeouts in 60 innings. Lindamood was 6-3 with an ERA of 1.64. He struck out 35 in 51.1 innings pitched.

The Bobcats and Bucks also had several players earn Academic All-District.

For Brandywine, Janowiak (4.0), Taylor Casey (3.88), Max Douglass (3.71), Duval (3.71) and Fox (3.67) were named to the team.

The Bucks had Lindamood (4.282), Adkerson (3.96), Christian Hall (3.81), Leazenby (3.72) and Josiah Smith (3.7) honored.
