Host Edwardsburg came within two minutes of being ousted from the Division 2 district soccer tournament Tuesday night.

Trailing Niles 1-0, Raegan Blue scored the tying goal with 1:59 remaining in regulation off an assist by Joelly Baldwin.

In the second overtime, Makayla Shaw scored with 9:12 left to give the Eddies the 2-1 victory and advance them to the semifinals at St. Joseph tonight.

Edwardsburg will face Lakeshore, which defeated Three Rivers 4-0. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. at St. Joe Upton Middle School.

“A long game with a lot of work put in by both teams,” Edwardsburg coach Brett Harding said. “Edwardsburg was pushed by Emily Lopez and Joelly Baldwin in the midfield while Niles was paced by Chelsea Best.”
