Hunter Janowiak is a senior on theBrandywine baseball team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
HJ: Earning all-district and all-region.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
HJ: Losing to Berrien Springs last year in districts.
What has been a hardship in your life?
HJ: A hardship in my life has been realizing that I can’t always be perfect and that sometimes failure can be beneficial.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
HJ: My parents are my heroes because they work so hard and push me to be my best.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
HJ: I am the most nervous right before a big game.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
HJ: Anytime that I strike out is very embarrassing for me.
How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?
HJ: I put on my headphones and blast music.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
HJ: I would probably throw shot put for the track team.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
HJ: High school sports teach you important life lessons and can also build bonds between you and your teammates.
How would you give away $50,000?
HJ: I would give $50,000 to medical research because I plan on pursuing a career in the field.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
HJ: I would be the manager of the Cubs to be the one to break the curse.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
HJ: I would work out and help my dad even more than I do already on our farm.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
HJ: Moving on from a mistake as I often find that very hard to do.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
HJ: I would make it so a caught foul tip by the catcher with two strikes does not count as an out but rather just a foul ball.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
HJ: That I am one of the hardest working individuals somebody has ever seen.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
HJ: One of the scariest things I had to do was take a public speaking class and I am glad I did because now it doesn’t bother me anymore.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
HJ: I witnessed on of my teammates hit a home run in a game, which is something I thought I’d never see from him.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
HJ: My favorite hobby is working out at Performance One because it is a way for me to release and it is a state-of-the-art facility.
