Buchanan and Edwardsburg squared off in a battle of two of the area’s best baseball teams Tuesday.

And when the smoke cleared, the Bucks had swept the non-league doubleheader from the Eddies 9-5 and 5-3.

The first game lasted nine innings.

Buchanan (16-7) won the opener with a run in the bottom of the ninth.

Christian Hall drew a leadoff walk from losing pitcher Devin Pulling, who advanced to third on a single by Kyle Leazenby and scored on an Edwardsburg miscue.

Leazenby earned the victory in relief of starter Jarrett Thomas.

The Bucks finished with 11 hits, including a double by Dalton Riddle.

Chad Adkerson went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Bucks, who also got two hits and three RBIs from Gavin Morris. Leazenby and Riddle both finished with two hits.

In the nightcap, Alex Lindamood picked up the victory with relief help from Riddle.

Adkerson went 2-for-3 with a double for the Bucks, while Leazenby doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
