ST. JOSEPH — Jaleesa Garner scored a pair of second half goals to lift visiting Brandywine to a 2-0 win over Michigan Lutheran in soccer Monday night.

After a scoreless first half, Garner found the back of the net off an assist by Alexis Garcia in the 46th minute.

The match remained 1-0 in favor of the Bobcats until the 78th minute when Garner scored off an assist by Alexia Martinez.

“It was a great team effort tonight,” Brandywine coach Evan Winkler said. “The girls came out with great effort and intensity. The last two games we came out sluggish in the first half. This is the most complete game we have played this season. Played great defense, offense and the midfielders controlled the middle of the field. Was very happy to see us do that. Hopefully we can build on this and continue to get better.”

Brandywine outshot the Titans 15-3. Bobcats’ keeper Sloan Kangas made all three saves.

Brandywine will now set its sights on a battle of undefeated BCS division foes when it travels to Parchment Wednesday.
