Edwardsburg roundup: Eddies sweep Berrien, split with Lancers

BERRIEN SPRINGS — The Edwardsburg baseball team finally got back on the field as it swept  a non-league doubleheader from host Berrien Springs Tuesday.

The Eddies were originally supposed to open the home portion of their 2016 campaign against South Bend Clay Monday, but the field was not ready for play due to snow and heavy rain over the weekend.

Edwardsburg (2-0) took the opening game 4-2 and then completed the sweep with a 5-4 win.

Jake Robinson and Jacob Kanaby were the winning pitchers for the Eddies against the former Wolverine Conference school.

Chris Griffin had a pair of doubles for the Eddies, who also got a double from Damion Pompey.
