Richard Hines, 89, of Berrien Springs passed away March 22, 2016, after a long illness. Mr. Hines was born in Chicago Nov. 15, 1926, to Raymond and Elizabeth Hines.

He is a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired masonry contractor. His back-to-back brick fireplaces are still in use at the 1839 Courthouse Museum complex in Berrien Springs.

Mr. Hines was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Raymond, one grandson, and a great-granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife Ramona, sons Mitch, Chad (Mary) and Dr. Richard (Rosalie), all of Berrien Springs, along with two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
