One of the most popular musicals of all time is coming to the Niles High School Auditorium.

This weekend, Niles High School will perform “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” a musical with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The plot is based on the coat of many colors story of Joseph from the bible’s Book of Genesis.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Director Patrick Bondy said the family-friendly musical has a run time of about 90 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.

“Bring the kids — young and old will enjoy it,” he said. “It is almost an entirely sung musical, so it is not a traditional book musical at all.”

Cost is $7 or $5 for seniors.

Bondy said the approximately 25 cast members have attended two-hour plus rehearsals daily for the last two months to bring the winter musical to life.

“This core cast has been an amazing group of hard workers,” he said. “I am really impressed with their amount of dedication.”

Also leading the show is musical director Matthew Hunckler and technical director Rob Babler.
