Man injured in Howard Township crash

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash that injured one person early Monday morning in Howard Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident occurred at approximately 12:21 a.m. on M-60 near Pine Lake Street.

According to the sheriff’s department, a vehicle driven by Scott Mcclellan, 43, of Illinois, lost control and hit a guardrail on M-60.

Mcclellan was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and a seatbelt was used, according to the sheriff’s department.

The Howard Township Fire Department and Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
