She was first married to Sandor Varga. Later, on April 18, 1977, in Budapest she married Henrik Garamszegi with whom she celebrated the 35th anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on June 30, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving family includes her daughter, Krisztina Varga of Niles; grandchildren, Anthony Varga, and twins Tiffany and Dominic Varga; and her siblings, Ferenc Sofelvi of Switzerland and Martha Sima of Hungary.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Garamszegi will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles by the Rev. Timothy Cuny, O.S.A., visiting priest at Saint Mary’s.
