Great to see local business owner investing in the community

Business owners typically choose a region to serve based on where they believe they can be most profitable, and that makes sense, because that’s the whole point of business, right?

Some business owners have other areas of focus, though, like where they feel they can make an impact, where they feel compelled to serve or where they feel at home.

Based on his constant generosity in the Dowagiac community, its safe to say that Dowagiac IT3’s Brian Antisdel belongs to that latter group of extraordinary individuals.

Antisdel decided on a whim during a visit to Dowagiac Union Schools last week to make a donation to pay off unpaid lunch balances at the middle school.

This sort of selfless thinking is just one example of the community-minded mentality that makes small cities like Dowagiac so special. This business owner, along with a recycling company, opted to spend hard earned dollars not on his own needs, but on the needs of his neighbors.

We believe the best kinds of businesses are the ones that exist for more than just to make money. Business owners like Antisdel who invest in our community are a huge asset.

And it doesn’t stop at this business, either. Plenty of restaurants open their doors for fundraisers to help out important local causes. Other business owners frequently make donations to those charities, and a good majority of business owners in Dowagiac spend time volunteering their time to give back to the Grand Old City.

Brian Antisdel is a great example of the great work being done in Dowagiac, and we’re thankful for his efforts.
