Dowagiac blows out Bulldogs

OTSEGO — Talk about getting off to a great start.

Perennial Wolverine Conference boys basketball powerhouses Dowagiac and Otsego collided again Tuesday night.

The visiting Chieftains scored more points in the first half than Otsego did for the entire game on its way to a 76-44 victory.

Dowagiac (2-0, 1-0 Wolverine) scored 31 first quarter points and led 45-16 by halftime.

The Chieftains took a 55-29 advantage in the final quarter.

Brandon Winchester-Jones scored 18 points to lead Dowagiac, which also got Harry Reed and Leroy Lewis. Keoante Blackamore finished with 10 points.

Billy Woodhams had 18 points for the Bulldogs.
