Despite a lack of a quorum, the Cassopolis Main Street committee moved forward with plans for Christmas in Cassopolis, which will be Dec. 5.

Although the organization could not act on the project, members in attenance did gather ideas for the event, which is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Christmas in Cassopolis will once again feature Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Log Cabin Museum, along with hot chocolate and donuts.

A horse-drawn wagon will be used to pull carolers around the village.

One of the suggestions from the audience was to invite area church choirs to come and perform prior to the community tree lighting.

There will also be a holiday bazaar at Sam Adams Elementary beginning at 8 p.m., while the Cassopolis-Vandalia Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Community Christmas Celebration at the VFW from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event includes lunch with Santa Claus, caroling and gifts for every child.

The Main Street Comittee has decided to move its meetings from Tuesdays to Mondays beginning Nov. 16.

The meeting, which will start at 5 p.m., will wrap up plans for Christmas in Cassopolis as well as discuss future plans.
