Ally Hale is a sophomore on the Dowagiac golf team.

What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

AH: Improving my golf game during my second year of golf. I have reduced my number of strokes considerably compared to my first year of golf.

What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?

AH: What disappoints me the most is when I mess up a shot and I know exactly how I could have prevented that from happening.

What has been a hardship in your life?

AH: A previous hardship in my life that I am trying to overcome would be personal acceptance. It is very important to accept yourself for who you are and having optimism in the things you do.

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

AH: I am very nervous when I tee off at the very first hole.

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

AH: My personal embarrassing athletic moment would have to be hitting a shot into the water on the first hole of my first match this past season.

How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?

AH: When I am by myself I practice my swing and making contact in my front yard.

How would you give away $50,000?

AH: I would pay back any money I owe to anyone. I would donate most of the money to the less fortunate and last, but not least, I would give the rest to my family members.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

AH: If I did not play any sports I would most likely spend more time with my friends and family. I might also go watch some of the other school sports.

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

AH: I have a hard time keeping my mind clear and staying positive.

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

AH: I would change the lost ball rule. Instead of going back to your last shot and dropping with a two stroke penalty, one should be able to drop another ball where they thought it landed and hit it again without a penalty.

What is the best compliment you have ever

received?

AH: When my coach compliments the way I play and when he sometimes says “wow” after I have teed off.

Choose one word to describe yourself:

AH: Caring.
