Christopher Thomas Welsh, 17, of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015.

Chris was born on Nov. 17, 1997, in Niles, Michigan. He was a senior at Niles High School and a member of the Niles Wrestling Team. Christopher made the decision to be an organ donor.

He is survived by his mother, Kathy Jones; father, Anthony (Nikki) Welsh; step father, Chris Fletcher; maternal grandfather Tom Jones; paternal grandparents, Donald and Nancy Welsh; brothers, Tyler Fletcher, Justin Jones and Michael Welsh and sisters, Haylie Mervine, Ashleigh Fletcher and Rhonda Welsh.

Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruth Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, and one hour before the service from 10-11 a.m. on Monday at Hoven Funeral Home.
