Police investigating robbery of Niles gas station

The Michigan State Police Niles Post is conducting an investigation into an armed robbery which occurred at the Marathon Station at 2205 E. US-12 Highway in Niles.
Cass County Sheriff Dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 7:56 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.
According to the Michigan State Police, surveillance video shows what appears to be a masked white male entering the store armed with a knife. The suspect immediately forced the lone store clerk to the cash register where the money was removed. In the video, it appears the suspect then placed the money in his hooded pullover.
The suspect then left the store without harming the clerk.
Troopers from the Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police responded to the scene.
Michigan State Police are asking that anyone with information contact the Niles post detective bureau or call Crime Stoppers.
