Brandywine wins BCS tennis championship

ST. JOSEPH — The Brandywine tennis team captured the outright BCS Athletic Conference championship despite settling for a tie with Berrien Springs at the league tournament in Bridgman Saturday.
The Bobcats and Shamrocks both scored 38 points to share the tournament championship. Brandywine wins the outright league title due to its 5-0 regular season record.
Bridgman was third with 28 points. Buchanan placed fifth with 22 points.
The lone individual champion for the Bobcats was Caleb Cole at No. 4 singles as he defeated Gabe Shembarger of Berrien Springs 7-5 and 7-6.
