Visiting Portage Central ruined Niles’ homecoming by beating the Vikings 56-0 in SMAC football Friday night.

The Vikings, who were coming off their first win of the season, were no match for the Mustangs, who finished with 357 yards of total offense, including 318 on the ground.

Niles (1-5) managed just 130 yards of total offense, of which, 60 came on a Joe Avance to Tre Gray pass.

Brandon Sturgeon ran for 116 yards on 13 carries for Portage Central, which improved to 6-0 and qualified for the state playoffs.

Austin Duff, Theo Kizer and Austin Laurencig all scored two touchdowns for the Mustangs.

Niles travels to St. Joseph Friday night.
