Three Rivers edged Dowagiac 2-1 in a Wolverine Conference soccer match Wednesday.

The match was tied at 1-1 at halftime.

Gavin Green scored the lone Chieftain goal at the 25th minute of the opening half.

Dowagiac outshot the Wildcats 13-10.

“We were too worried about scoring the whole game and were not possessing,” Dowagiac coach Mike Williams said. “You have to possess in order to consistently control the game and give yourself scoring opportunities. We were unable to settle down and do that.”
