Niles golf team fifth at jamboree

BERRIEN SPRINGS — The Niles golf team finished fifth at the SMAC West Jamboree at Berrien Hills Wednesday.
The Vikings shot 253.
“They all showed significant improvement in their skills and each of them are grateful for their advancements,” Niles coach Dan Palmer said. “Each of the girls illustrated significant improvement on learning how to play the game on a competitive level. The team is becoming more comfortable on new courses, even as a young team.”
Elizabeth Clark finished in the top 10 individual standings with 51.
Senior Michelle Crouch and freshman Aynslee Myer both shot 66. Freshman Katie Bruckner shot a 70, while senior Jessica Tompos followed right behind with 71. Emma Durm shot a 78.
