Niles Elks Lodge event to raise money for drug awarness fund

The Niles Elks Lodge is devoting Saturday, Sept. 12 to an effort to raise money for its Drug Awareness Fund.
The day will feature a golf outing, cornhole tournament and football tailgate party.
The 18-hole golf outing will take place at Plym Park with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Sign-in is at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per person and includes a grilled chicken lunch buffet. Bags will fly at 1 p.m. for the cornhole tournament. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. and the cost is $30 a team.
The double elimination tournament pays one, two, three (50 percent of registrations fees) and includes a grilled chicken lunch buffet.
The events are open to the public.
The annual tailgate party will kick off at 2 p.m. with outdoor tents, television and good, old-fashioned team rivalry.
The Elks Drug Awareness fund is used to support youth sports, project graduation, Southside School, technology for schools, hoop shoot and more. It is the Elks goal to assist as many organizations and worthwhile causes and events as possible.

The grilled chicken buffet includes grilled chicken, corn on the cob, coleslaw, snacks and sugary treats for all golfers and cornhole players. Contact the lodge to sign up for the golf outing and the cornhole tournament. Cornhole players can also sign up the day of the tournament.
