Cosmetology school a great asset to Niles community, Michiana region

When Susan Sakara’s newest business venture opens this fall, the entire Michiana region will benefit.

The cosmetology school, Kintsukuri, will provide an affordable opportunity to interested aestheticians, hair stylists, nail technicians and more, but the rest of the community will benefit as well.

As with any new business, the new school will draw people from other regions to the downtown area, and increased traffic means more business. Because Sakara’s school promises features that other regional cosmetology institutions don’t offer, students from outside of Niles will flock to the area, drawing new shoppers and driving up the local economy.

As students get to the level where they are working on the clinic floor, Michiana residents will also have the opportunity to give the students a chance to show off what they have learned while getting inexpensive services like manicures and haircuts.

Overall, Sakara hopes the program will train cosmetologists to be extremely skilled beauticians. Once students graduate from the program, many of them are likely to stay and work in the Michiana area, meaning Michiana residents will be able to take advantage of talented cosmetologists, which is not always the case.

Eventually, high school students interested in dabbling in the cosmetology field will be able to get a head start on their education through career and technical programs.

The list of benefits from this institution has the potential to go on and on. We are happy to see Sakara’s continued investment in the Niles community and the future of the beauty industry, and fully support her endeavors.
