Niles will be among 10 teams competing for the Gull Lake Blue Devil Invitational volleyball championship at Gull Lake High School in Richmond Friday.

Also participating in the season-opening tournament are the host Blue Devils, Lakeshore, Schoolcraft, Delton-Kellogg, Wayland, Battle Creek Lakeview, Vicksburg, Hamilton and South Haven.

First round matches will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be a best of three set format with the first two sets being played to 25 with a cap at 27 points. If a third set is needed, it will be played to 15 points with no cap.

The Vikings will be in Bracket C along with Wayland, Lakeview and Vicksburg. Niles will face Lakeview at 9:30 a.m., Wayland at 10:30 a.m. and Vicksburg at 12:30 p.m.

The top six teams will move into the Gold Bracket and the final four teams into the Silver Bracket.

Gold and Silver Bracket matches will be played at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. with the championship matches slated for approximately 3:30 p.m.
