Local children spent another morning getting their hands and clothes caked in substances of questionable origin Friday, during the latest in the Dowagiac District Library’s series of “Messy Time” activities.

The children were tasked with creating their own bowl of “Oobleck,” a Dr. Seuss-inspired material that behaves like a solid when handled, but oozes into a liquid when released.

The library has been hosting a series of Messy Time activities since June 6, offering activities for area children such as tie-dye, paper mache and water gun art. The final Messy Time activity will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday.
