Authorities with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office are working with investigators in two other counties on a series of break-ins that occurred late last week in the southern part of the county, according to information released by the sheriff’s office.
According to police, three burglaries occurred in the lower part of Cass County from June 19-22, with two residences in Milton Township — which is located in Niles — and one in Mason Township reportedly broken into.
Cass County detectives said they believe these incidents are connected to a similar rash of breaking and entering cases in Berrien County, Michigan, and St. Joseph County, Indiana.
Law enforcement agencies within all three jurisdictions are working together to identify a suspect or suspects in regards to these incidents.
The sheriff’s office will release additional information as the investigation progresses.
The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or person to their local authorities, by calling Cass County Central Dispatch at (269) 445-1560.
