Kenneth H. Thomasson, 69, formerly of Berrien Springs, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, at his home in Niles. He had bravely fought cancer.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at The Summit Church, 1700 W. River Road, Niles, where friends may call from noon until service time. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, and online messages may be left at www.allredfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations may be made to The Summit Church, where Ken was a member.
Ken was born July 13, 1945, in Union Hill, Arkansas, the son of Elvin and Beryl (McDougal) Thomasson. He owned and operated Thomasson Insurance Agency, with offices in Berrien Springs and New Buffalo. He was a member of the Michigan Association of Independent Agents, Amateur Trap Shooting Association, past member of Masonic Lodge, past president of Berrien County Sportsman’s Club, and had been a softball team coach.
Surviving are his wife, Kim, whom he married May 8, 1993, in Niles; four daughters — Tamara Covert of Indianapolis; Diana (Parker) Williams of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; Dana Dickson of Bentonville, Arkansas; DeAnna Marshall of Bakersfield, California; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, with another on the way; and two brothers—James (Ruth) Thomasson of Fowlerton, Indiana; and George (Sandi) Thomasson of Edmonton, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
