The Dowagiac baseball team swept a pair of non-league games from visiting Watervliet Tuesday.

The Chieftain defeated the Panthers 6-1 and 2-0 at Rotary Park.

Daquan Brooks scattered seven hits in picking up the victory.

Dowagiac finished with just three hits in the opening game. Matt Smith doubled for the Chieftains.

In the nightcap, Mason Hojara tossed a one-hitter with seven strikeouts and just one walk.

Dowagiac had six hits in the second game, including a 2-for-2 performance by Collin Hassle, who singled, doubled and drove in both runs.
