A 77-year-old Edwardsburg man walking on Garver Lake Road was struck and killed Friday morning.

According to Ontwa Township-Edwardsburg Police Chief Timothy Kozal, his officers responded to the accident south of US-12 on Garver Lake Road at 4:49 a.m.

When they arrived at the scene they found that a 77-year-old male walking on Garver Lake Road had been struck by a gray 2009 Mazda four-wheel drive vehicle traveling southbound.

A 24-year-old Edwardsburg resident was driving the vehicle and as cooperated with the investigation.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Edwardsburg Fire Department and Edwardsburg Ambulance assisted at the scene.
