Despite outhitting visiting Lakeshore in both ends of its SMAC West Division baseball doubleheader, Niles lost to the Lancers 8-6 and 4-0.

The Vikings (15-9) held a 9-8 advantage in hitting in the opening game, while in the nightcap Niles outhit Lakeshore 6-4.

Jason Hoida and Chris Frantz both doubled for the Vikings in the opening game.

Frantz had a triple in the nightcap.
