St. Joseph takes advantage of Dowagiac errors

ST. JOSEPH — Visiting Dowagiac committed nine errors in losing to St. Joseph 11-1 and 8-3 in non-conference baseball Monday.

The Chieftains were only outhit by the Bears 17-14 in the doubleheader, but could not overcome the errors.

Mason Hojara took the loss in the opener for the Chieftains, while Nate Ward suffered the loss in the nightcap.

Daquan Brooks singled and drove in a run in the opener for Dowagiac, while Collin Hassle was 2-for-2.

In the second game, Brenden Dudley went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Nick Foote was 2-for-3.
