NILES — Brooke Smith recorded a hat trick as host Brandywine defeated Dowagiac 5-2 in non-conference soccer Friday.

Smith scored in the 18th, 64th and 67th minutes for the Bobcats.

Brandywine led 3-0 at halftime on a pair of Jaleesa Garner goals (fourth and 16th minute) and Smith’s first score.

Dowagiac’s second half goals came from Logan McMeekan (48th minute) and Mara Nelson (73rd minute).
