Brandywine takes out Class A St. Joseph 54-38

ST. JOSEPH — For the third time this season, the Brandywine girls basketball team faced Class A competition.
Following the Bobcats’ 54-38 win over host St. Joseph Tuesday night, Brandywine (17-1) is 2-1. Their only loss was a double overtime setback at Kalamazoo Central.
Tuesday night’s game in the Bears’ Den was close for one quarter as the Bobcats led 14-13.
But after outscoring St. Joseph (10-7) 17-4 in the second quarter to open up a 31-17 halftime advantage, the contest was never close again.
Makenna Hartline scored a game-high 16 points to lead Brandywine, which also got 15 points form Emily Erwin.
The Bears did not have a single player reach double figures. Shelby Madison had eight points to pace St. Joseph.
