Big second half leads Mustangs to victory

PORTAGE — Visiting Niles was outscored 31-22 in the second half as Portage Central rallied for a 51-45 SMAC West Division boys basketball victory Tuesday night.
The Vikings (3-5, 0-3 West) led 13-5 after one quarter and 23-20 at halftime.
The Mustangs (2-6, 1-2 West) outscored Niles 18-5 in the third quarter to take a 38-28 advantage to the final quarter.
Austin McCullough led Portage Central with 12 points. He was the lone Mustang to reach double digits.
Niles was led by Gabe Stokes’ 12 points. Gavin Rasler added nine points.
