Brandywine now 6-0 after win over Ottawa Hills

BENTON HARBOR — The Brandywine girls basketball team remained undefeated with a 54-41 win over Class A Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills at the Lou Harvey Invitational at Benton Harbor Saturday night.

The game was delayed more than an hour as weather hindered the start of the day-long tournament.

The Bobcats (6-0) grabbed a 13-8 lead after one quarter, which it stretched to 25-18 at halftime.

Brandywine outscored Ottawa Hills 29-23 in the second half to earn the victory.

Makenna Hartline scored a game-high 21 points for the Bobcats, who also got nine points from Michaela Hartline and eight points each from Jaleesa Garner and Brooke Smith.

Vayla Crawford led Ottawa Hills with 18 points.

Brandywine will host former Lakeland Conference foe and soon to be BCS Athletic Conference member Berrien Springs at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
