Busy week ahead for Chieftain teams

The Dowagiac girls basketball team after playing two games this week, will have a chance to catch its breath over the weekend.

But it will be back to work for the Chieftains next week with games at Niles on Tuesday and at Coloma on Friday.

The Vikings are 1-0 heading into tonight’s key SMAC West Division game against visiting Benton Harbor. Tip-off for the Niles game is approximately 7:15 p.m.

Next Friday, the Chieftains continue Wolverine Conference West Division action against host Coloma.

Dowagiac is playing a doubleheader against the Comets with the girls game beginning at 6 p.m. and the boys game at approximately 7:15 p.m.

The Chieftain boys begin their season Tuesday night with a home game against cross-county rival Cassopolis. Tip-off is set for 7:15 p.m.

Dowagiac’s wrestling team starts its season on Wednesday with a home quad meet. Cassopolis, Paw Paw and Watervliet.

Wrestling will begin at 6 p.m.
