COA offers free Parkinson’s symposium

CASSOPOLIS — The Cass County COA Lowe Center will host its 6th Parkinson’s Symposium featuring Dr. Cynthia Comella of Rush University Medical Center in Chicago from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10.

Comella is a professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center. She is also chair of the executive committee of the Dystonia Study Group and an active member of the Movement Disorders Society. At the Symposium, Comella will discuss the latest research findings in the area of Parkinson’s disease as well as information that will be very helpful to those dealing with Parkinson’s, their families and caregivers.

“Dr. Comella conducts an active clinical research program, and she is going share the results to ensure we receive the most current and helpful information on Parkinson’s disease. We are very fortunate to have her come to Cass County to share her insights and very important perspective,” said Brenda Harris, coordinator of the symposium.
