A Niles man who had been missing for nearly a week was located earlier this week, according a press release by the Niles Police Department.

Brian Arthur Frank, 31, was found by Lincoln Township Police at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday. He was safe and in his vehicle near Red Arrow Highway and Interstate 94 in Berrien County.

Although Frank was physically unharmed, police say he was transported to Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

The Niles Police Department said it wants to thank the public for helping find Frank.

Prior to being located, Frank was last seen at 11 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 200 block of South 4th Street in Niles. He left in his 2003 burgundy Ford Taurus with Michigan.

Police said he suffers from mental disorders and had been without his prescribed medication for several days.

Family members thought he might be in Benton Harbor, Detroit or in the Chicago area.

He was listed as a missing person in a nationwide law enforcement database.
