Dowagiac Memorial Day Parade

- Members of the Dowagiac VFW bow their heads in silence during a prayer in front of city hall.
- The Dowagiac Union High School marching band stand outside the monument on Main Street.
- The band plays “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” near the start of the day’s ceremonies.
- Recently retired Army and Air Force veteran Lance Lechlitner speaks in front of city hall. The Dowagiac native was the guest speaker for this year’s event.
- Members of the Kalamazoo Pipe Band march down Front Street.
- Miss Dowagiac Mackenzie Whitmyer and her court of honor greet parade visitors on their float.
- Also participating in the parade was Miss Eau Claire/Sodus Jenna Tidey and her court of honor.
- Members of the high school robotics team march onto Division Street, with their machine following along.
