MATTAWAN — The Edwardsburg baseball team dropped a 6-3 decision to Paw Paw in the semifinals of the Wolverine Conference Tournament Saturday.

The tournament was moved to Mattawan due to field conditions in Otsego.

The Redskins, who went on to win the league championship with a 3-2 win over Vicksburg, scored three times in the opening inning and then twice in the top of the seventh to build a 6-1 lead.

The Eddies (18-6) scored twice in the bottom of the seventh, but could not overcome the early deficit.

Garrett Bronkema despite allowing just five hits, suffered the loss. He also homered for Edwardsburg.

Jesse Reinebold and Dalton Raymond each had two hits.
