Niles’ own Melanie Bizoe was honored as a guest speaker at the first ever Lakeshore Division Engagement Rally for the American Cancer Society held in South Bend.

Bizoe is recognized across the region as a superb speaker, especially in regards to one important aspect: Cancer. She is a breast cancer survivor that has the uncanny ability to use a heart-wrenching story and add a sense of humor to keep everyone empowered and engaged.

In a room full of 300 American Cancer Society employees, Melanie was able to deliver a story that moved everyone. This ability has proven successful for Melanie as she has been the survivor chair of the Relay For Life of Niles-Buchanan for the past five years, and has been instrumental in the success of Niles-Buchanan’s Survivor Dinner and coinciding presentation that continues to grow each year.

Bizoe has been recognized across the board as a tremendous speaker and was recently asked to speak in Chicago at the American Cancer Society’s Walk and Roll on Saturday, April 26. As Melanie receives recognition across the Midwest, Relay for Life organizers want to give her an even bigger round of applause for her meaningful work here in the Michiana area.
