Don Longway, of Dowagiac

Don “Ducky” Longway was born June 26, 1941, in La Crosse, Wisc., the son of Arthur and Hazel (Norcross) Longway. He was married to Virginia Voit of Dowagiac from 1961 to 1979. He also shared his life with Judi Richardson of Dowagiac, and Mary Ann Coon of Indian River, Mich.2-26DonLongway

Don was a machine operator for nearly 20 years at Jessup Door Company in Dowagiac. He also lived for many years in Toppinabee, Mich.

Surviving family include his children, Kelly (Dave) Bolin, Kim White, Kris (Danny DeRyder) Dawkins, and Don Longway, all of Dowagiac; his grandchildren, Beth Bolin, Dayson Bolin, MKena Bolin, Adam Starkey, Trintin White, Katie Newland and Ben Owen; step-grandchildren Heidi Longway, Harmony Longway and Hanna Longway; great-grandchildren Hayden Langley, Neka Langley, Mikael Starkey and Devon Starkey and one brother, Robert (Nancy) Longway of Dowagiac.

Don passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at The Timbers of Cass County, Dowagiac. He was preceded in death by both parents, a step-son, Orba Longway and a sister, Diane.

His family will have a gathering for friends from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac.
