Dowagiac rally falls short against Comets

COLOMA — Host Coloma led at every quarter break and came away with a 58-52 Wolverine Conference West Division boys basketball victory over Dowagiac Friday night.

The Chieftains trailed 29-18 at halftime and attempted a comeback, but were unable to catch the Comets, who improve to 5-5 overall and 3-2 in the West.

Auston Rushing had a game-high 24 points for Coloma.

Dowagiac (5-6, 2-3 West) was led by Brandon Winchester-Jones and Kyle Solloway, both of whom scored 18 points.
