Vikings fall to Portage Central

PORTAGE — Host Portage Central outscored Niles 36-24 in the second half to pull away to a 59-54 Big 16 West Division girls basketball victory Friday night.
The Vikings (8-3, 4-3 West) used a 17-9 scoring advantage in the second quarter to open up a 30-27 halftime lead.
But the Mustangs (3-7, 3-4 West) turned the tables on Niles in the third quarter, outscoring the Vikings 17-5 to grab a 40-35 lead.
Jessica Dornoff scored a game-high 21 points to lead Portage Central, which also got 11 points from Sarah Casanto.
Elyse Zimmerman led the Vikings with 16 points. Libby Moody added 14 points.
