Barbara J. Maxwell, 61, of Niles, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Barbara was born to the late O.T. Maxwell, and Virgie (Foster) Leithoff on Sept. 28, 1952 in Niles, Michigan.

For the past 13 years Barb has worked at Archway, previously Corporate Services in South Bend, Indiana as account coordinator/administrator until her illness no longer allowed.

Barb enjoyed reading, music, animals, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

She also loved the beach and wanted to retire where it was warm.

She had a very kind heart and was always lending a helping hand.

She was a loyal friend, a very hard worker and loved to laugh. Barb will be missed by many on this earth.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son, John Pillow currently of Three Rivers, MI, her two grandchildren Brooke and Austin King, stepgrandson Andy Campbell, her sister, April (Jeff Perbix) Maxwell of Fort Myers, Florida and two brothers, David and Gary Maxwell.
