The award winning Broadway play “Little Shop of Horrors” will be performed at the Barn Swallow Theatre Oct. 17-20.

The play, written by Howard Ashman with music by Alan Menken is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Barn Swallow Theatre will be performing this darkly comedic musical at the theater located at 22334 U.S. 12 East of Edwardsburg.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Presently plants are growing at the theater (some are for sale), but watch out — one of them is not cute. As the play unfolds, you will be aware that one has an appetite for blood.

“Little Shop of Horrors” tells the whole story about the deadly plant, Audrey II and it’s bid to take over the world. The main character, Seymour discovers that seeking fame and fortune may cost him the love of his life and maybe even his life.

To tell this story, Barn Swallow Theatre is filling the stage with huge puppets and the area’s best collection of talented singer and actors. Cast members from Elkhart, Granger, Edwardsburg, Cassopolis, Dowagiac and Niles plan to provide an evening of humor, chills and a great way to begin the Halloween season.

To insure seating, reservations are requested to avoid disappointment when planning to attend the show.  For reservations and information call 445-2511.
